have a question?
Listed below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions regarding having surgery.
Have you been exposed to COVID-19 and are you symptomatic?
Please inform the office of your COVID-19 status.
Can I eat prior to my surgery?
Surgical patients are instructed not to eat after midnight the evening prior to surgery.
Can I take my medication?
What should I wear?

Do I need to bring anything with me the day of surgery and when should I arrive at the center for my procedure?
Bring with you a photo ID such as a driver's license and your insurance cards. When you arrive at the center the staff will review with you the consent for surgery, your financial responsibility, Advanced Directives, and other important information.
A member of Valley Eye Surgical Center will call you the day before your surgery to let you know your arrival time, review your pre-operative instructions, and answer any questions you may have.
What can I expect after surgery is finished?
Immediately after surgery you will be taken to our post-operative area where you will be monitored by our clinical staff. You will be offered a drink and light snack.
You will receive verbal and written instructions on what you should do at home and you will be prepared for discharge from our center.
Can I drive home after the procedure?
PA State regulations and our policy dictate that you cannot drive yourself home after receiving anesthesia. We also recommend that you have someone with you at home after your surgery.
